BONE GRAFT

A key parameter for making implant surgery possible is the quantity and quality of available bone tissue.
In the upper arch, the loss of dental elements can be associated with the pneumatization, ie, enlargement of the maxillary sinus with consequent reduction of the bone available for implant placement.

The maxillary sinus lift is a surgical technique that consists of grafting the bone particles into the maxillary sinus with consequent bone growth for the future insertion of dental implants.

Deformations of the edentulous ridges of the upper or lower arch may also compromise implant placement.

The reconstruction of the lost bone structure can occur in these cases with various techniques: block bone grafts, guided bone regeneration with membranes, bone expansion and growth factors.

Reconstructive surgery is necessary not only in case of bone deficiency but also when bone atrophy can compromise patient?s smile and the maintenance of dental implants over time.

What are the benefits of “bone grafts”?
Thanks to modern bone regeneration techniques it is now possible to reconstruct even the most severe atrophy bone thus allowing implant insertion even in very complex cases. The post-operative follow-up is not significant and the day after the surgery the patient can resume normal work even if with some precaution.
